The We Will Stop Femicide Platform stated that there was an increase in femicides and suspicious deaths of women in August 2024. In the report released by the platform, it was noted that 33 femicides and 24 suspicious deaths of women were recorded during the month of August.

The report drew attention to the fact that at least 22 of the women killed in the first 8 months of the year had been murdered despite having filed complaints with the police or the prosecutor's office. The platform stated that if Law No. 6284 had been implemented effectively, many of these women would still be alive, and emphasized that shelters play a critical role in the fight against violence.

In the report prepared by the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, it was stated that “Unless it is determined by whom and why women are killed; and unless fair trials are conducted, violence will continue to evolve and persist,” emphasizing the need for fair judicial proceedings regarding femicides and suspicious deaths.
