Armed attack on police officer in Antalya: Critically injured

A police officer was critically injured in an armed attack in the Serik district of Antalya.

In the industrial zone, a person walking on the road was fired upon with a pump-action shotgun from inside a white vehicle with no license plate. The person struck by the pellets fell to the ground.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

After receiving initial treatment, the injured officer was taken to Serik State Hospital and subsequently transferred to Antalya. It was learned that the officer's life is in danger.

In the investigation conducted by the police, it was determined that the injured individual was Ali Şen, a police officer serving at the Antalya Police Department who had come to Serik to buy a car, and that the suspect was G.K.

An operation has been launched to apprehend the suspect, who fled the scene. It was observed that pellets also struck a car located in a repair shop during the attack.

Meanwhile, the moment of the attack was recorded by a security camera at a business in the industrial zone. The footage shows a white car slowing down in the middle of the road, shots being fired with a pump-action shotgun from the back seat of the car, and the police officer subsequently falling to the ground.
