Aylin Nazlıaka and Cengiz Topel Yıldırım's 'Mamak' confrontation: 'He said he wanted the CHP'

A 'Mamak' confrontation took place between İYİ Party's Ankara candidate Cengiz Topel Yıldırım and CHP Deputy Chair Aylin Nazlıaka on the program Taksim Meydanı with Gürkan Hacır.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, speaking on the program Az Önce Konuştum regarding allegations of irregularities and bid-rigging by İYİ Party's Ankara candidate Cengiz Topel Yıldırım, responded by saying, "He has plenty of experience in bid-rigging; that is all I will say for now.

Cengiz Topel Yıldırım came and asked me for the Mamak mayoral candidacy. When we didn't give it to him, he started going on all the television channels just to smear Mansur Yavaş. This friend has lost his mental health." These remarks were discussed on the program.

"WE MET WITH AYLİN NAZLIAKA ON DECEMBER 22"

I have not requested an appointment with any leader. The development of this process is as follows: In the second or third week of December, Ms. Aylin Nazlıaka called me. She said, 'Mr. Chairman, can we meet?' Following this, we met with Nazlıaka on December 22. We talked about politics there. I wished her well. We ended our meeting. 

"SHE SAID SHE WANTED TO ARRANGE A MEETING WITH ÖZGÜR ÖZEL"

On January 11, we had another meeting with Nazlıaka. Nazlıaka said she wanted to arrange a meeting for me with Özgür Özel. Nazlıaka said, 'We are more successful when we are together rather than apart.' Upon this, I said I would meet with Özgür Özel. I thought it would not be right to say no to this. 

"ON JANUARY 14, NAZLIAKA SAID SHE WOULD ARRANGE A MEETING FOR ME WITH ÖZGÜR ÖZEL"

On January 14, Nazlıaka wrote to me in a message that she would 'arrange a meeting for me with Özgür Özel.' That message still exists. Following this, on Monday, January 15, I, Nazlıaka, and Özgür Özel chatted at the CHP Headquarters in the Chairman's office. I did not make a request to 'get me an appointment from Mansur Yavaş' through Ömer Lütfü Avşar.

"SHE SENT A MESSAGE SAYING 'MANSUR YAVAŞ WILL CALL YOU, WE WILL MEET TOMORROW'"

On the evening of Wednesday, January 17, Nazlıaka called me and sent a message saying, 'Mansur Yavaş will call you, we will meet together tomorrow afternoon.' I have this message as well. After this message, I called Nazlıaka and asked about the content of the meeting. She said this meeting was at the request and with the knowledge of Özgür Özel. 

"MANSUR YAVAŞ INVITED ME"

On Thursday, January 18, at 13:47, I called the municipality's private secretary. They said that if I was available at 16:15, Mansur Yavaş invited me to his office. Upon this, I called Nazlıaka. I said I would be there at 16:15. We chatted with Yavaş for 15-20 minutes and left.

"YILDIRIM STARTED WITH ÇANKAYA AND CONTINUED WITH MAMAK, HE SAID IT COULD BE KEÇİÖREN"

It is true information that I called him in December. I will not go into too much detail about the meeting I had with him. To summarize, he said he was offended by the CHP Headquarters.

I said that we are a party that embraces everyone, and I brought him together with Özgür Özel. He clearly expressed that he wanted to be a mayoral candidate from the CHP.

He listed a few different places; he started with Çankaya, continued with Mamak, and said it could be Keçiören.

"YILDIRIM THOUGHT IF IT IS NOT ETİMESGUT, IT COULD BE MAMAK"

I also felt a responsibility to arrange a meeting for him with Mansur Yavaş. It was an extremely short meeting with Mansur Yavaş. He expressed that he wanted to be a candidate without beating around the bush; he expressed Mamak there. He thought if it is not Etimesgut, it could be Mamak.

Yıldırım said, "There is a Cengiz Topel neighborhood in Mamak, which bears my name. I will win Mamak, and I will increase our votes in Ankara."

Mansur Yavaş also clearly stated that another candidate was under consideration. After the very short meeting, we said goodbye and left.

"HE SAID HE RECEIVED AN OFFER FROM THE İYİ PARTY BUT WANTED US"

As Yıldırım was leaving, I didn't want to say this, but I am saying it because I have to. He showed the message that came from Akşener's private secretary, Ms. Esma.

He clearly said that he received an offer from the İYİ Party but wanted to walk with us. Therefore, I invite him to be honest. He had said, 'I don't want to be the one who causes a loss.'

At this rate, he won't be the one causing a loss, but he will be the loser.

"DOESN'T NAZLIAKA REMEMBER THIS?"

Following Nazlıaka's words, Yıldırım said, "Nazlıaka wrote and told a nice scenario from her own perspective. Doesn't Nazlıaka remember that while Yavaş was telling a ton of stories, I looked Yavaş in the eye and said, 'I will most likely be a candidate from the İYİ Party'?"

"YILDIRIM KEPT THE İYİ PARTY ON IDLE"

Nazlıaka said, "Yıldırım wanted to be a candidate from us. During this process, he kept the İYİ Party on idle. A day before he met with Mansur Yavaş, he received a message from Ms. Esma, and he did not respond to that message and kept it on idle. The important thing is to be honest.
