Call to Erdoğan: Claim about Mehmet Şimşek from İmamoğlu's advisor

While Minister Şimşek denied the claim made by Democrat Party (DP) Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Cemal Enginyurt, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that an investigation into the matter has been launched.
Former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar commented on the claims that Şimşek had resigned, saying, "Unfortunately. Those who feed those manipulating the markets with the lie that 'Şimşek has resigned' are mostly masked friends on the inside."

A notable statement on the subject also came from Serkan Özcan, an advisor to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Stating that the news about Şimşek's 'resignation' was intentionally fabricated, Özcan alleged that there are people within the ruling party who have their eyes on Şimşek's seat.
"I believe these rumors were spread by certain elements within the ruling power who have their eyes on the Minister's seat," said Özcan, adding that comparing Şimşek to former finance ministers such as Berat Albayrak, Şahap Kavcıoğlu, and Nurettin Nebati is a great disgrace.

"I believe the rumors regarding Mr. Mehmet Şimşek were spread not so much by chronic opposition figures who think 'let the country sink,' but by certain elements within the ruling power who have their eyes on the Minister's seat.
Because they have become all too accustomed to gossip and character assassination.
The implemented program is a program that relies solely on high interest rates, remains weak in other economic areas, and does not include the necessary changes in non-economic areas, primarily the rule of law.
However, despite the shortcomings of the program he implements, it is a great disgrace to even compare Mr. Şimşek in terms of qualifications with his predecessors such as Berat Albayrak, Şahap Kavcıoğlu, and Nurettin Nebati.
Therefore, reiterating my call, I suggest that the President publicly support Mr. Şimşek and his team without wasting any time.
This call of mine is not a preference but a necessity for the future of the country's economy, which has fragile balances."
