CHP Chairman Özgür Özel delivered a speech at the Eskişehir candidate introduction meeting.
The candidate introduction meeting held in Eskişehir began with a minute of silence for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all martyrs, followed by the National Anthem.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, who was not nominated in this election, bid farewell to Eskişehir with the words: "I love this city very much, I love you all very much. Goodbye for now. Stay well."
Speaking at the candidate introduction meeting, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Ayşe Ünlüce stated: "Today, we are hosting a historic day with great enthusiasm. As a woman of the Republic in our Atatürk-loving Eskişehir, in the centenary of our Republic, I am proud to greet you as the metropolitan mayoral candidate. Today, we are filled with excitement with you. The team that will protect this city and carry it even further was before you. We will definitely succeed and reach victory on March 31. My dear Republican People's Party friends, on this path where we are honored to walk with you, we will win for Eskişehir. I trust our past, I believe in our future."
PINNED BADGES
Özgür Özel pinned badges on individuals who joined his party from the İYİ Party Eskişehir Provincial Organization.
Highlights from Özel's speech at the program are as follows:
"A little while ago, we pinned our six-arrow badges onto new lapels. They all came to one place; where did they come? They came to the father's house. We are all born in the father's house. But everyone knows that the soup is boiling in the father's house, and its chimney is smoking. If there is a need one day, there is a place in that father's house. Because the title deed of that father's house is not with Özgür Özel or Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu; the title deed of that father's house is registered to one person, and that is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The doors of Atatürk's house are open to all the good people, the brave people of Eskişehir."
Emphasizing that Büyükerşen will not retire, Özel said, "Yılmaz Büyükerşen will have one hand in Eskişehir and one hand on the CHP municipalities." Özel announced that Büyükerşen will be the General Coordinator of the newly established CHP Municipalities Commission.
Stating that they aim to increase the interest of young people and women in the party, Özel expressed his confidence in his party's Eskişehir candidate, Ayşe Ünlüce.
Criticizing Nebi Hatipoğlu, who switched to the AKP after being elected as an Eskişehir deputy from the İYİ Party and is now the People's Alliance's Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, Özel said:
"The public will give the best answer on March 31 to those who, just 1 year ago, gathered Eskişehir's votes against Erdoğan and are now candidates from the AKP. There can be no votes for those who steal Eskişehir's votes, for vote thieves. For morality, for conscience, and to give an answer to this mindset that deceived Eskişehir, I expect a Turkey record from you on behalf of the CHP on March 31."
