"EVEN IF IT IS MY BROTHER, IF HE HAS DONE SOMETHING WRONG, THE NECESSARY ACTION MUST BE TAKEN"
Deputy Minister of Interior Mehmet Aktaş had made the following statement regarding the matter on the day his brother was detained:
"I learned this morning that he was detained as part of the operation. He was likely detained in connection with some work there. Since the investigation is currently confidential, we do not have any information either. Ultimately, even if it is my brother, if he has done something wrong, the necessary action must be taken. That is all there is to it; this child is a municipal employee. He was likely detained due to a signature he placed there; we do not know the content of it either."
