Expert report in ABB investigation revealed: How much was paid for 130 concerts?

Thirteen people have been detained as part of the concert investigation launched into the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. The expert report prepared regarding the investigation noted that 759 million 148 thousand 652 TL was paid for 130 concerts held between 2021 and 2024.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigation into the concert services provided by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) between January 1, 2021, and November 10, 2024.

REPORTS BEING PREPARED FOR 234 CONCERTS

It was stated that the ABB organized a total of 234 concerts during this period, and that the research and reporting process for 104 of them is ongoing.

EXPERT REPORT REVEALED

According to the expert report prepared by the ABB Department of Culture and Social Affairs, it was alleged that 759 million 148 thousand 652 lira was spent from the municipal budget for 130 concerts. The report claimed that payments above market rates were made for 32 concert service procurements, causing the municipality to incur a loss of 154 million 453 thousand 221 lira and 60 kuruş.

MASAK INVESTIGATION

On the other hand, examinations conducted in line with data sent by MASAK noted that the fees paid to artists corresponded to only 20 percent of the amounts invoiced by the municipality, while the remaining 80 percent portion remained with the contractor firms.
