Journalist Fatih Altaylı evaluated the verdicts in the Narin Güran case in his column today. Stating, "I say this with regret, but unfortunately, this verdict will be overturned by the Court of Cassation. This trial will be held again," Altaylı added, "Neither society nor the media should let this murder case go."
Altaylı said the following:
"The obfuscation policy that the Güran family has implemented since the first day of the incident has left its marks on both the indictment and the verdict. There is no information or data regarding either the motive for the murder or why the court punished these three individuals as the perpetrators of the murder. The confusion has also affected the verdict, resulting in a decision based on 'it must have been this way'."
He made a reference, saying, "Would it have crossed your mind that the perpetrators of the Atatürk Airport massacre would be released! It wouldn't have, but they were. I fear that something similar could happen here as well."
