Foreign Minister Fidan notifies new ambassadors of their appointments

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has notified several ambassadors of their new ambassadorial and permanent representative assignments. The position of Ambassador to Sofia has been assigned to Mehmet Sait Uyanık, Chief of Cabinet to the Foreign Minister and Deputy Director General.

According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, Minister Fidan has notified the individuals who will serve as ambassadors at Turkey's foreign missions of their new assignments.

Accordingly, it has been decided to appoint Mehmet Sait Uyanık, Chief of Cabinet to the Foreign Minister and Deputy Director General, as Ambassador to Sofia; Beliz Celasin Rende, Deputy Director General for Information, as Ambassador to Guatemala; Alper Aktaş, Deputy Director General, as Ambassador to Mogadishu; and Emriye Bağdagül Ormancı, Deputy Director General for Cultural Affairs, as Ambassador to Santo Domingo.

Fahri Türker Oba, Deputy Director General for Migration, Asylum and Visa, has been appointed as Ambassador to Banjul; Semih Lütfü Turgut, Consul General in Mazar-i-Sharif, as Ambassador to Colombo; and Ambassador Ahmet İhsan Kızıltan, Advisor to the Minister of National Defense, as Ambassador to Santiago.

The other individuals notified by Fidan and their respective posts are as follows:

"Cem Utkan, Deputy Director General for the Americas, as Ambassador to N'Djamena; Naciye Gökçen Kaya, Representative in İzmir, as Ambassador to San Jose; Korhan Kemik, Deputy Director General for East Asia, as Ambassador to Hanoi; Rifat Cem Örnekol, Deputy Director General for South and West Europe, as Ambassador to Conakry; Cenk Uraz, Ambassador to Djibouti, as Permanent Representative of Turkey to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; Erdal Sabri Ergen, Deputy Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, as Ambassador to Djibouti; Ambassador Ahmet Ergin, Member of the Board of Inspection, as Ambassador to Malabo; and Mustafa Çelik, Deputy Director General for Citizens Living Abroad and Real Estate, as Ambassador to Luanda."
