Gaza under blockade: City left in darkness
With the only power plant in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip out of service due to a lack of fuel, the region's electricity has been completely cut off. The blockaded city is now without electricity, water, and gas.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel called 'Al-Aqsa Flood' on the morning of October 7. While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, armed groups entered residential areas. In response, Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said, "We are at war".
Two days ago, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he had ordered a complete siege of the Gaza Strip. Gallant had stated, "There is no electricity, no water, no food, no fuel, everything will be cut off. We are fighting human animals and we will act accordingly".
As reported by the BBC earlier today, Palestinian officials had stated that the fuel for the last operating power plant in Gaza would soon run out.
According to AA's report at 15:13, the last power plant in Gaza has been deactivated due to a lack of fuel. Consequently, the region's electricity has been completely cut off.
