Governor's Office announces: 10-day protest ban in Şırnak

In a statement issued today, the Şırnak Governor's Office announced that a ban has been imposed on gatherings, marches, and press statements in open areas across the province, effective from October 6 until 23:59 on October 15.

The statement read: "With the exception of events deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and District Governorships, programs organized by public institutions and organizations, official holidays, official commemoration days, official ceremonies and celebrations, programs held by these institutions in accordance with their traditions and customs, congresses held by unions and political parties in accordance with their charters, and sports activities; all kinds of open-air meetings and demonstration marches, mass welcoming and farewell ceremonies, press statements held by institutions and organizations outside their own buildings, sit-ins, rallies, tent pitching, signature campaigns, stand openings, mass funeral ceremonies and cemetery visits, commemoration ceremonies, festivals, concerts, entertainment, theatrical performances, demonstrations and similar actions and events, all kinds of audio and visual activities that can be carried out with sound broadcasting vehicles, wishing lanterns-balloon releases, all kinds of aerial activities such as drones and paramotors, and the distribution of flyers, stickers, brochures and similar materials, as well as the hanging of posters and banners, excluding the commercial activities of private legal entities with commercial identity, are prohibited for 10 days from 00:01 on October 6 to 23:59 on October 15 throughout the entire province of Şırnak, including the city center and districts (geographical area - city center, districts, and all police and gendarmerie responsibility zones)"
