“We need to get rid of İmamoğlu” backstage claim!
Journalist Levent Gültekin has put forward a highly controversial claim regarding the CHP, which is preparing for its party congress. Gültekin alleged that one of the CHP deputy chairmen said, "We need to get rid of İmamoğlu. He is a nuisance to us. We will even give up Istanbul if necessary."
The Republican People's Party (CHP) will head to its 38th Ordinary Congress on November 4-5. However, before that, all eyes are on the Istanbul Provincial Congress to be held on Sunday, October 8. Ahead of the congress, journalist Levent Gültekin put forward a highly controversial claim.
Making striking statements on his own YouTube channel, Gültekin drew attention to the debates within the CHP. Gültekin touched upon the fact that Kılıçdaroğlu, who met with the 39 district chairmen elected in Istanbul last week, did not include İmamoğlu, citing the closed nature of the meeting.
Stating that "he is belittling İmamoğlu in public," Gültekin then voiced a claim regarding the infighting within the party.
Saying "A friend of mine had a conversation with one of the CHP deputy chairmen," Gültekin relayed that the deputy chairman he mentioned in the meeting said, "We need to get rid of İmamoğlu. He is a nuisance to us. We will even give up Istanbul if necessary."
WHO IS THAT NAME?
Following the claim that shook the backstage, the name also emerged. According to Odatv's report, it was alleged that the person whom Levent Gültekin referred to as "one of the deputy chairmen" is CHP Istanbul Deputy Erdoğan Toprak.
