Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu, who has drawn attention with his recent statements regarding the AKP and sparked debate with his comment 'If the President calls, I will go,' has claimed that his words were taken out of context.

Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğluhas been at the center of public discourse recently due to his statements regarding his former party, the AKP.

During a television program he attended, "In spirit, I have never broken away from the AK Party" said Ahmet Davutoğlu, "If the President calls, I will go" he had stated.

These remarks raised the question, "Is the Future Party joining the AKP?" and Davutoğlu issued a statement following the reactions.

In a statement posted on his X account, Davutoğlu said, "I find it necessary to emphasize my approach with three main points against the efforts to create a perception by taking my statements in some television programs out of context." he said.

"I REMAINED LOYAL TO THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES BOTH WHILE IN THE AK PARTY AND AFTERWARDS"

Davutoğlu used the following expressions:

1. For me, the essence and spirit of a political party are the principles it is based on. I have always remained loyal to the AK Party's founding principles based on the fight against corruption, bans, and poverty, both while I was in the AK Party and afterwards; I defended and lived by these principles without compromise.

2. I emerged from the conservative masses that resisted the oppression of February 28, which is the primary social base of the AK Party; my bond with those masses has never been broken, neither in academic life nor in political life, and it will not be broken.

3. In a period when the world is going through major wars and crises and we are surrounded by a ring of fire, I consider it a historical civic duty and a responsibility of a statesman to provide all kinds of support to our state on strategic issues, without expecting any title or position.

Personally, and for our Future Party, which we celebrated the 5th anniversary of with great enthusiasm on December 14, our fundamental mission is not to get stuck in political conflicts based on past disputes, but to rebuild politics on a moral basis, our state on a basis of merit, and our national strategy on the basis of a 'strong and great Turkey' that is effective in our heartland.

We are ready to hold every hand extended in this direction, to support every step taken, and to make every sacrifice necessary, regardless of the distinction between government and opposition."
