Illegal betting operations in 5 provinces: 74 suspects detained

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on his social media account that the "SIBERAĞ-6" operations, conducted against illegal betting and organized crime, have been successfully completed in 5 provinces.
Simultaneous raids were carried out in Antalya, Kırklareli, and Yozgat as part of the operations centered in Kayseri and Diyarbakır. As a result of the operations, 74 suspects were detained, who were found to be linked to an illegal betting network with a total transaction volume of 3 billion 177 million 207 thousand TL.
In the operations carried out through the coordinated efforts of the General Directorate of Security's Department of Combating Cyber Crimes and provincial police departments, 58 suspects were apprehended in the Kayseri-centered operation, and 16 suspects were apprehended in the Diyarbakır-centered operation. Similar operations were also conducted in the provinces of Antalya, Kırklareli, and Yozgat. During the operations, one automobile, a large amount of foreign currency, and numerous digital materials were seized.
ILLEGAL BETTING NETWORK DISMANTLED
Minister Yerlikaya stated that bank accounts belonging to other individuals were used on illegal betting sites and that the proceeds from the crime were laundered by being smuggled abroad. Yerlikaya expressed that a major illegal betting and money laundering network had been dismantled thanks to these operations.

Emphasizing that they will continue their fight against cybercrime with determination, Minister Yerlikaya stated, "Our virtual patrols are on duty 24/7," indicating that the fight against cybercrime continues.
