It's the village head's turn: Trustee appointed to a village head in Ardahan!

The "trustee blow" that began with the Esenyurt Municipality and subsequently expanded to numerous provincial and district municipalities has now reached a village headship. Provincial Special Administration Director Yasin Zorlu has been appointed to replace Şah İsmail Göyük, the village head of Burmadere in the Damal district of Ardahan. 

Journalist Barış Yarkadaş announced the news of the trustee appointment on a social media platform. 

THE REASON IS TERROR AGAIN 

Journalist Yarkadaş shared details from his conversation with Şah İsmail Göyük. According to Yarkadaş, Göyük stated the following regarding the matter: 

“About a month or a month and a half ago, we were invited to a meeting at the Ardahan Governor's Office. All village heads who have a Cemevi (Alevi house of worship) in their village were invited. We are Alevis. At that meeting, a lady from the Ministry of Interior said, ‘The needs of the Cemevis will be met by the Ministry of Culture. Write down your list of needs for us.' 

I both thanked her and objected to this. My objection was to the desire to have Cemevis affiliated with the Ministry of Culture. I told the official, ‘We are not a dance school or a music school. We don't do ballet either. What does the Ministry of Culture have to do with us? Cemevis are centers of faith. We don't need that money.' As the discussion dragged on, we reached the topics of ‘equal citizenship' and ‘Why is there not a single Alevi governor?' Some village heads provided the requested documents. I reacted to them by saying, ‘You are doing the wrong thing. Even your own children will sue you.' The meeting ended, and we returned to our villages. A month or a month and a half after the meeting, I was taken into custody and brought to the Counter-Terrorism Branch due to a post I made on my social media accounts.”

COMMEMORATING MAHİR, DENİZ, AND KAYPAKKAYA DEEMED A CRIME

“At the Counter-Terrorism Branch, the message I wrote for the leaders of the '68 generation was presented to me as evidence of a crime. Commemorating Mahir, Deniz, and Kaypakkaya was cited as an accusation of a crime. I explained that these were not crimes and that, as a poor peasant's child, I felt sympathy for the '68 leaders. I am a member of the CHP. I said this to the police and the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office requested my arrest. Allegedly, I had engaged in terrorist organization propaganda. I denied the accusations. My trial will be held on December 9. Yesterday, they appointed a civil servant as a trustee in my place. I am currently at the coffeehouse with the villagers. No one sees the trustee as legitimate. I have not committed a crime. The trustee appointment should be revoked. I want to return to my duty. I will also convey the issue to our party.”
