As the scandal involving unauthorized loans and money transfers grows, a recent Akbank customer claimed to have suffered a loss of 700 thousand TL.

Following these allegations, there was a significant decline in Akbank shares on the Borsa Istanbul. Akbank shares lost 2.20 percent of their value during the day, falling to the 62.15 level. This loss brought Akbank to its lowest level in recent times.
BANK DENIED
The bank denied these allegations and stated that investigations concluded that the cases in question were carried out using social engineering methods.
Bank officials emphasized that the limited number of cases mentioned in the posts were examined in detail and that customers should be careful against such attacks.
Stating that the claims regarding security vulnerabilities or data leaks in the bank's systems are baseless, the bank issued the following statement: "All of the limited number of cases were meticulously examined by our bank at the time they occurred. As a result of the investigation, it was observed that these cases were carried out using social engineering methods. All of our relevant customers have been provided with the necessary information regarding their applications related to the incidents, and all their requests for information have been answered."
