Journalist Timur Soykan will face a 1 million TL compensation lawsuit on December 12.

Soykan will be tried due to his report titled "550 million in loans from Halkbank to the mafia," which was published in BirGün newspaper.

Through RSF (Reporters Without Borders), Soykan drew attention to the increasing threats against journalism.

In his report regarding Halkbank, Soykan alleged that the bank provided large loans to individuals and groups linked to the mafia, and he faced a compensation lawsuit following this report.
