Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP's candidate for the new term, Mansur Yavaş, attended the opening ceremony of the Ulus 100th Year Square.

In his speech at the ceremony, Yavaş made assessments regarding the People's Alliance and AKP Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok.

Regarding Altınok's disclosure of his assets, Yavaş stated, "I have declared my assets. Our opponents have also started to declare theirs, but when you see the reports in the press today, there is a lot of speculation."

Yavaş stated the following in his remarks:

"My dear fellow citizens, all the work we do is transparent. Being accountable to the public is a necessity. I have declared my assets. Our opponents have also started to declare theirs, but when you see the reports in the press today, there is a lot of speculation.

I said this on a television broadcast yesterday; all my bank accounts have been open to inspection since I first became mayor in Beypazarı in 1999. I have nothing to hide from anyone. Public officials should be like this. They should declare their assets from when they started their term to when they left. This does not only apply to Mansur Yavaş, but covers all mayors serving in Turkey. Only in this way is it possible to prevent income inequality, poverty, and destitution among these people. Only in this way will corruption and waste be eliminated. We, as the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, are proud to lead the way in this."
