Kılavuz broke his silence for the first time since the murder took place on December 30, 2022. Describing the murder as "vile," Kılavuz stated, "I am the one who is the most victimized in this incident."

Following a complaint by Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, Olcay Kılavuz had also been included among the suspects.

It had emerged that Tolgahan Demirbaş, who helped the hitman who committed the murder escape, had left from a house belonging to Kılavuz.

While it is stated that Kılavuz is a suspect in the Sinan Ateş murder, Kılavuz spoke for the first time since the date of the murder, December 30, 2022.

"I AM THE PERSON WHO IS THE VICTIM"

Speaking to Seyhan Avşar from Halk TV, Kılavuz denied all allegations against him and said the following:

“They want to drag us into these events with various attacks and various accusations to make us find a place within these dishonorable acts. I am the person who is most saddened and most victimized by this incident.

How could we consent to, be involved in, or desire such a heinous attack on someone who served for many years in an institution like the Ülkü Ocakları with my honor and dignity, and who served as the president of the Ülkü Ocakları after me? This is something very terrible. It is even vile.”
