Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated by hundreds of citizens who gathered at Maltepe Küçükyalı Beach as the clock struck 09:05 on the 85th anniversary of his passing.
Citizens who joined the commemoration program with flags in their hands formed a 'Respect Chain for Ata' that stretched for meters.
A group of 15 professional divers performed a 'Respect Dive for Ata'.
At 09:05, the divers surfaced with a banner featuring Atatürk's eyes and a Turkish Flag to commemorate the founder of the Republic.
