Naim Babüroğlu comments on events in northern Syria: 'It is the collapse of the Ummah policy'

Following the incident in Kayseri where a Syrian refugee abused a young girl, footage of Turkish trucks being burned and attacks on the Turkish flag in Syria continues to emerge.

While the footage of numerous trucks being burned following stone-throwing attacks sparked reactions, the attacks on the Turkish flag also drew intense criticism. 

As the successive footage of attacks caused public outrage, retired Brigadier General and 12punto.com.tr columnist Naim Babüroğlu commented on the tension in the region through statements on his social media account.

While it was observed that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) sent additional forces to the region following the events, Babüroğlu pointed out that the AKP's Ummah policy has collapsed and made the following statements:

In the regions in Syria controlled by Turkey, the Arabs supported by Turkey lowered and burned Turkish flags and attacked Turkish vehicles. It is the pinnacle of ingratitude and treachery. This is the collapse of the Ummah policy. 

The question is: How many billions of dollars did we spend for them to become our enemies? We are one of the rare countries that feeds enemies by paying money.

The flag does not come down, it cannot be lowered, it cannot be trampled upon, it cannot be torn apart. The flag is the honor and dignity of the Turkish Nation and the Republic of Turkey.

The groups supported by Turkey in Syria are tearing down the Turkish flag and damaging vehicles, saying, "Did you sell us out to Assad?" You are not even a tribe. Is Turkey supposed to ask you what it should do?
