New development in the fugitive Eylem Tok case! The grandfather of one of the children present at the scene turns out to be a famous figure
The extradition process from the US for Eylem Tok, who smuggled her son Timur Cihantimur abroad after he caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci while driving without a license, is ongoing. While all of Turkey has been focused on the fugitive Eylem Tok and her son, 12punto has identified another one of the children who was at the scene during the accident. It has been learned that P.T.E., the grandson of the late Tarhan Erdem—former Minister of Industry and Technology and founder of the KONDA Research and Consultancy Center—also gave statements twice along with the other children.

New developments are emerging in the fugitive Eylem Tok case, which has captured Turkey's attention.
Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of computer engineer Oğuz Murat Aci with the luxury vehicle he was driving without a license and at excessive speed, was smuggled first to Egypt and then to the USA by his mother Eylem Tok in a swift operation following the accident.
Regarding the nine friends who were with Timur Cihantimur on the day of the incident and against whom no action was taken, the late Murat Aci's father had stated, "They have powerful fathers."
THE DEMİRÖREN ALLEGATION AND THE SUBSEQUENT RESIGNATION
It had been alleged that one of the nine children present at the scene during the accident was E.C.D., the son of the Yıldırım-Revna Demirören couple.
The allegation became a topic of conversation across Turkey after DHA reporter Rojda Altıntaş resigned from the institution where she worked and shared certain audio recordings on her social media account.
According to what Altıntaş conveyed, a driver named İlker, who stated that he had been working for Revna Demirören for 30 years, persistently called her to try to prevent the news from being published.
The driver named İlker told DHA reporter Altıntaş, "Don't publish that story. Timur is a childhood friend of Yıldırım Bey's son E.C.D."
Oğuz Murat Aci's family had implied that the Demirören surname was not mentioned in the official reports, stating that this was facilitated through certain police officers, and declared that they would initiate a legal battle, saying, "The police's turn will come too."
IDENTITY OF ANOTHER CHILD REVEALED
Finally, the identity of another one of the children who was at the scene during the accident has been revealed.
According to information obtained and documented by 12punto, P.T.E., one of the nine children, turned out to be the grandson of the late Tarhan Erdem, the former Secretary General of the Republican People's Party (CHP), former Minister of Industry and Technology, 16th Term Istanbul Deputy, and founder of the KONDA Research and Consultancy Center.

Speaking to 12punto on the subject, his father Aydın Erdem said, "There is an accident. As seen in their statements, there is no dramatic situation where they acted wrongly. They gave statements twice. My son was sleeping during the accident. Including the names of the children and families in this news does not go beyond making the news a bit more interesting. Ultimately, these are children under 18, half-child, half-youth, half-adult; it is a bit unfair to them."

As is known, Tarhan Erdem's daughter is Ayşe Erdem, one of the founding members of the Green Left Party and a member of the HDP Party Assembly. The wife of the late Tarhan Erdem, who was the brother of former ANAP İzmir deputy and former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey İsmet Kaya Erdem, is Gülsevil Erdemir, one of the founders of the Women's Studies Association. Gülsevil Erdem is also among the founding members of the Contemporary Life Support Foundation of Turkey.
Oğuz Murat Aci's father, Özer Aci, had stated that the nine children who were at the scene during the accident had not been able to go to school since the day of the accident and had faced reactions at school.
On the other hand, Özer Aci stated in his explanation to 12punto that the parents of the children who were at the scene during the accident met at Kemer Country and, by adopting a common stance, decided absolutely not to meet or establish contact with the Aci Family.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR EYLEM TOK
In the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, an arrest warrant was issued on the same day, March 2, 2024, for the mother Eylem Tok for the crime of "harboring a criminal" and for her son T.C. for the crime of "causing the death of one person and the injury of more than one person," after it was determined that they had departed from Istanbul Airport for Egypt at approximately 03:50 on March 2, 2024.
Eylem Tok and her son, who fled to the USA, were caught on camera laughing.
