New statement from Gökhan Zan following second audio recording
Gökhan Zan has issued a statement following a second audio recording, allegedly featuring him, in which he accuses Turgay Kocakaya of betrayal.

Zan, whose candidacy was withdrawn by the TİP following their announcement, made a new statement on his social media account after the emergence of the second audio recording, saying, "The truth will emerge as a result of the investigation to be conducted, and this game played against me will go down in history as a black mark."
Making a statement on the social media platform X, Zan included the following remarks:
"As you know, a criminal complaint has been filed regarding the baseless allegations made against me, and a judicial process has been initiated. During the filing of the criminal complaint, we also requested that a forensic examination be conducted urgently by the relevant Specialized Board of the Council of Forensic Medicine.
Our hope is that this examination will be completed before the election so that all our people can go to the polls having seen the truth. I expect the judicial authorities to show special sensitivity to this matter. The truth will emerge as a result of the investigation to be conducted, and this game played against me will go down in history as a black mark.
As a child of these lands, I only hope that our people will not fall for fake provocations, will not engage in trial by media, and will realize the truth before it is too late."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The TİP had announced that it was withdrawing Gökhan Zan, whom it had nominated as the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate, due to the allegations against him. Following the first audio recording, which was alleged to belong to Gökhan Zan and suggested that he was offered 3 million dollars not to withdraw from his candidacy, a new recording emerged today.
The recording featured a conversation between Gökhan Zan and Turgay Kocakaya. In the conversation, Zan accuses Kocakaya of 'betrayal' and calls him to Hatay.
Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that the conversation took place before March 10, noting, "In fact, Gökhan Zan was aware of the existence of the audio recordings attributed to him; he knew about them before March 10, yet he did not consider turning to the prosecutor's office."
