CHP Chairman Özel reacted to the arrests with the following words:
"The decision to arrest 9 young people who protested Tayyip Erdoğan proves the dire situation our country's democracy has fallen into. These young people, who were exercising their right to expression, must be released.
I promise here that under the administration of our next President, no one who exercises their right to protest will be arrested, and all obstacles to freedom of expression will be removed."
