Israel protest against Erdoğan: Arrest requested for 9 people

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was interrupted by a group protesting Turkey's commercial relations with Israel while he was delivering a speech at the TRT World Forum on November 29.

The protesters were detained on the grounds that they used insulting language toward Erdoğan.

REFERRED TO COURT WITH REQUEST FOR ARREST

The 9 people detained during the protest were processed on charges of "insulting the President." The suspects, whose detention periods were extended, were referred to the Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse today. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office applied to the duty magistrate judge for the arrest of the 9 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

President Tayyip Erdoğan was protested during his speech at the TRT World Forum held at the Istanbul Congress Center.

Voices were raised from the audience while Erdoğan was speaking about Israel's attacks.

"SHIPS ARE CARRYING BOMBS TO GAZA" REACTION

When one person reacted to Erdoğan by saying, "While Zionists continue their trade in our seas and ports... Ships are carrying bombs to Gaza," Erdoğan replied, "My child, do not be the tongue and mouth of the Zionists here. No matter how much you try to provoke this place, you will not get results. The Zionists in the world know very well where Tayyip Erdoğan stands, but you still haven't understood it."

ONE PERSON'S MOUTH WAS COVERED

The protesters were hastily removed from the hall. One person's mouth was seen being covered by security personnel.
