Shocking claim in Narin Güran murder case: Attempts were made to obstruct search efforts

A JASAT report has revealed that search efforts for 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in Diyarbakır, were intentionally obstructed. According to the report, gendarmerie teams were misled through arson, power outages, and false tips.

New details continue to emerge in the investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was missing for 19 days in Diyarbakır before her lifeless body was discovered in Eğertutmaz Creek

A report prepared by the Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Team (JASAT) has revealed that search and rescue efforts were deliberately obstructed.

OBSTRUCTION ATTEMPTS DETECTED

The report prepared by JASAT states that the search efforts launched to find Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21, 2024, were intentionally disrupted by certain individuals through distracting and misleading actions. 

The report notes that fires were intentionally set in the village, power outages occurred, and gendarmerie teams were misled by false tips during the search process.

It was recorded in the report that some members of the Güran family were involved in these actions, and that there was an attempt to divert gendarmerie teams away from the scene.

The JASAT report in the file listed the false tips and distracting actions intended to divert attention as follows:

>> Gendarmerie personnel were attempted to be directed to a location near the tents where Syrians were staying by claiming that a 'slipper was found' there,

>> A fire was set in the village,

>> Unusual power outages occurred during search and rescue efforts,

>> Two individuals reported that a girl was being taken to the upper part of the village, misleading security units with false statements,

>> Through such actions, gendarmerie personnel were attempted to be kept away from Eğertutmaz Creek,

>> Some of these actions were carried out by certain members of the Güran family.

NARIN GÜRAN MURDER INVESTIGATION

In the investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, 11 suspects, including her mother Yüksel Güran and brother Enes Güran, have been arrested.

Within the scope of the investigation, I.K. and Ş.K., who were learned to be relatives of Narin, were taken into custody.
