Sinan Oğan's statement on Hafize Gaye Erkan's resignation

Stating that the process is important in terms of showing where the culture of lynching can lead, Oğan used the following expressions:

I learned with sadness that our Central Bank Governor, Ms. Hafize Gaye Erkan, has resigned from her post. At a time when our economy is going through a fragile process and a new program is being attempted to be implemented, while it is a desired situation for our economic management to remain in office in a stable and long-term manner, it is also important in terms of showing where the social media lynching culture, which has increased significantly and continues recklessly in our country recently, can lead.

Based on the example of Hafize Gaye Erkan, who took office with great enthusiasm for her country and nation by realizing a reverse brain drain to our country and who has a respected place in the international community, a wrong perception has been created for our successful values in the international arena who intend to return to our country and take office.

It has become more essential than ever to protect our globally successful citizens, to bring them into the service of our country, and to carry out studies that will encourage reverse migration.

In this framework, we hope that a new appointment that will also give confidence to international markets will be made without delay. I would also like to state our belief that our economic program will be implemented without compromise. In addition, necessary measures must be taken to protect the corporate identity and reputation of our Central Bank and to ensure it is not drawn into such discussions again.
