Suspects who shot at businesses in Istanbul captured

It has been announced that 15 suspects, members of an organized crime group who shot at businesses, were captured in Istanbul as part of the 'Kuyu-14' operations.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that 15 suspects, members of an organized crime group, were captured in the "Kuyu-14" operations carried out in the districts of Zeytinburnu, Beşiktaş, Kartal, Bağcılar, Eyüpsultan, Bayrampaşa, Bahçelievler, Sultanbeyli, and Ataşehir.

Stating that 14 of the suspects have been arrested and the processing of 1 is ongoing, Yerlikaya provided the following information:

"As a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Combat Branch, it was determined that the captured suspects committed the acts of attempted intentional homicide and property damage in Bahçelievler on June 26; carried out the shooting of a business named E.S.K. in Sultanbeyli on July 3; carried out the shooting of 2 different businesses named S.O. and M.O. in Ataşehir on July 3; and were involved in a total of 10 different acts between June 25 and July 14, including 6 different business shootings, threats, and intentional injury incidents in Eyüpsultan and Bayrampaşa on July 11 and 13."

Noting that 7 unlicensed pistols, an AK-47 long-barreled weapon, an automatic pistol, a precision scale, various amounts of narcotics, and a large amount of foreign currency and Turkish Lira were seized during the operations, Yerlikaya congratulated the security forces who carried out the operations, adding, "With the support of our people, we will root out organized crime groups. They will not be able to find shelter in our streets; we will capture them all one by one and deliver them to justice."
