Switzerland returns: 37 historical artifacts brought back to Turkey

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that 37 historical artifacts have been brought back to the country within the framework of an agreement signed between Turkey and Switzerland.

Minister Ersoy announced that the fight against the smuggling of cultural property continues without slowing down and that, as a result of the agreement signed with Switzerland in this context, 37 artifacts belonging to the Early Bronze Age, Urartian, and Roman periods have been brought to Turkey. 

Minister Ersoy included the following statements in his post on his social media account:

“Our historical artifacts are returning to the lands they belong to. Within the scope of the agreement signed between Turkey and Switzerland, the return of 37 of our artifacts from the Early Bronze Age, Urartian, and Roman periods to our country has been secured. The artifacts returned to their country will very soon be in the lands where they were born. I would like to thank everyone who contributed. Our struggle continues.”
