Historic decline in computer sales; situation may change

New data has been released for the PC sector. Data published by the research and consulting firm Gartner shows that PC shipments have dropped significantly. Experts, who expect the situation to change, attribute this decline in sales compared to last year to inflation and rising living costs.

WHICH ONE HAS THE LARGEST DECLINE?

Lenovo, one of the brands selling PCs, remains the leader, while HP is the winner on the list. Following the company, which saw a growth of 6.4 percent, is Acer with the smallest loss. Acer saw a decline of 2.4 percent.

Things look quite bad for Apple. The company experienced the largest decline, becoming the biggest loser with a 24.2 percent loss.

According to expert forecasts, the fact that Windows 12 is on the way and that computers purchased during the pandemic period will need to be replaced will provide momentum to PC sales again. In fact, Gartner experts say they expect growth of nearly 5 percent in the PC sector in 2024.
