The political power behind Central Bank Governor Erkan's father, Erol Erkan

Journalist Erk Acarer has made striking allegations regarding the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, Hafize Gaye Erkan.

Acarer disclosed the assets belonging to Erkan's family and her connections to Mehmet Ağar.

In an interview she gave to Hürriyet newspaper some time ago, Hafize Gaye Erkan complained about the high cost of rents in Istanbul and said she was staying at her family's home.

It was later revealed that there was an apartment rented for Erkan by the Central Bank.

It was also reported in the press that Erkan owns a multi-million dollar villa on the seafront in Bodrum.

Publishing a photo of the apartment building in Kadıköy belonging to the family, Acarer said, "You are looking at the Gaye Apartment, located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Kadıköy.

Yes, this apartment is in Istanbul and belongs to Hafize Gaye Erkan's family.

But the state's property is an endless sea anyway. There is no problem in making the state pay the rent for another house!"

'MEHMET AĞAR'S COUSIN'

It has emerged that the father, Erol Erkan, who is alleged to have fired a Central Bank employee and slapped another bank employee, is related to a famous figure.

Stating that Erol Erkan is the cousin of former Interior Minister Mehmet Ağar, Erk Acarer asked, "Let's return to the father, Erol Erkan; he is a close relative of a very familiar person.

Perhaps the allegations of him bossing people around and slapping employees at the Central Bank should be viewed from this perspective.
