Allegations against Hafize Gaye Erkan continue! 'The signature on the 200 TL note is fake'

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan continues to face a barrage of allegations.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut claimed that the signature of Hafize Gaye Erkan on the 200 TL banknotes released on December 7, 2023, is fake.

Bulut stated that this is not the real signature of Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan.

Pointing out that Erkan's signature on the 200 TL banknotes is not the same as the signature she used in the USA, Bulut said, "I want to ask, do you use a different signature everywhere?"

'A FAKE SIGNATURE HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE CURRENCY'

Stating that currency symbolizes a country's reputation and independence, Bulut said the following:

"Yes, there is no doubt that our currency is the reputation of our nation. However, there is no resemblance between the signature Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan placed on the 200 TL note and the signature she used in the USA. The Central Bank Governor has placed a fake signature on our currency, the symbol of our reputation."

On the other hand, noting that she also used her old signature on the greeting cards she sent at the beginning of the year, Bulut included the following remarks: "I want to ask, do you use a different signature everywhere? If your signature has changed, did you do this through a notary? Why did you feel the need to place a different signature on our currency, the symbol of our reputation?"
