Tragic death: Father shoots son while keeping watch against wild boars

In Tokat, a father keeping watch against wild boar attacks in a walnut orchard accidentally shot his son, who lost his life.

R.D. (81), a resident of Tokat, and his son Abidin Doğan (50) had begun keeping watch at night for several days against wild boars entering the walnut saplings in their village. While Abidin Doğan was keeping watch among the saplings and walking toward his father, R.D., who did not notice his son, fired his hunting rifle.

The shots from the rifle struck Abidin Doğan in the chest area. Realizing he had wounded his son, R.D. notified 112 emergency health teams. Upon the report, 112 health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The lifeless body of Abidin Doğan, who was determined to have lost his life at the scene, was taken to the Tokat State Hospital morgue for examination. R.D. was taken into custody by the gendarmerie.
