Two major developments in the Sinan Ateş murder case! Olcay Kılavuz added to the file as a suspect

Former Ülkü Ocakları President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş was assassinated in Çukurambar, Ankara, on December 30, 2022, and significant developments have occurred in the investigation into his murder.

Former MHP Mersin Deputy Olcay Kılavuz, who was revealed to have been present during the police raid in which Tolgahan Demirbaş—who allegedly helped the hitman escape Ankara after the murder—was apprehended, has been added to the file as a "suspect."

According to a report by Asuman Aranca from T24, Kılavuz was registered as a suspect on charges of "aiding in murder" before the May 14 elections. However, because he was a member of parliament at the time, Kılavuz's file was separated from the main case and sent to the parliamentary bureau. Since Kılavuz was not re-elected as a deputy in the elections, his parliamentary immunity has ended, and he is expected to be added back to the main case file.

'DEPUTY CHIEF PROSECUTOR WANTED TO WITHDRAW AFTER SEEING THE EVIDENCE'

It is also alleged that a new "deputy chief prosecutor" crisis has emerged in the case. According to reports, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Ahmet Altun, who took over the investigation at the start of the judicial recess and is known for his proximity to the MHP, wanted to withdraw from the case after seeing the state of the evidence. When Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor Ahmet Akça did not accept this request, Altun abruptly went on leave. It is claimed that very important evidence has been added to the file and that Altun did not want his signature on the case.
