US Ambassador to Ankara Jeff Flake, whose term in Turkey has come to an end, has bid farewell to Turkey in a video message. In the message shared on the embassy's social media account, Flake stated that they had deepened the cooperation between the Turkish and American people throughout his 3-year tenure.
'TURKEY IS A GREAT COUNTRY FOR ATHLETES'
In the video he posted on his X account, Flake described the joint projects they carried out with Turkish authorities and their activities regarding education. Stating that Turkey is a wonderful country for sports fans, Flake said he had the opportunity to meet many successful athletes during this time.
F-16S AND SWEDEN'S NATO MEMBERSHIP
Ambassador Flake emphasized that the bilateral partnership was strengthened by increasing trust and mutual respect between the two countries. "We overcame issues by making critical progress on matters such as the sale of F-16s and the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO," said Flake, noting that he welcomed the progress made on these issues.
UKRAINE AND THE BLACK SEA GRAIN INITIATIVE
Drawing attention to the joint support provided by Turkey and the US to Ukraine, Flake stated, "We are grateful to Turkey for the role it played in the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which secured global food security." Highlighting Turkey's contribution to global food security, Flake emphasized the importance of this initiative.
