US Ambassador Flake: 'I welcome the Turkish Parliament's Sweden decision with great appreciation'
Following the Parliament's approval of Sweden's NATO accession, US Ambassador Flake stated, "I welcome the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye's decision to approve Sweden's NATO accession with great appreciation."
The bill finding the protocol for Sweden's NATO accession appropriate for approval has been passed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly. A statement regarding the matter also came from US Ambassador to Ankara Jeffrey Lane Flake.
"I WELCOME IT WITH GREAT APPRECIATION"
The statement included the following remarks: "I welcome the decision taken today by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to approve Sweden's NATO accession with great appreciation. Sweden's NATO accession is a critically important step toward strengthening the Alliance, which is more important today than ever before. Türkiye's commitment to the NATO Alliance clearly demonstrates our unwavering partnership. I thank the Turkish people and the government of the Republic of Türkiye."
