Village imam dismissed in Narin Güran murder investigation

R.K., the imam of Tavşantepe Village, who was repeatedly called for questioning and taken into custody as part of the investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, has been dismissed by the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

The imam, whose name was mentioned in the murder investigation and who was questioned multiple times, had entered Turkey in July, though there were no records of him leaving the country despite allegations that he had fled abroad.

Reportedly, the Presidency of Religious Affairs reached a final decision within the scope of the ongoing investigation and dismissed R.K. from his position as imam. The legal process regarding the murder of Narin Güran continues.
