Approximately 17 million retirees receive bonuses twice a year during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. This year, claims that a third bonus payment might be on the agenda due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic are being discussed on social media.
In this context, experts from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance are making preparations for such a regulation.

STATEMENT ON RETIREE BONUS FROM HAMZA DAĞ
AKP Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ spoke about the Republic Day bonus for retirees.
In his statement, Hamza Dağ noted the following: "Our ministries are working rapidly to make the most accurate decision by putting the issue on the table, both in terms of meeting the demands we receive from our retirees and considering the budget balance."
When asked whether a 5,000 lira bonus would be given to retirees on October 29, Dağ said, "It is not appropriate for me to give a date given my position. I do not know exactly what stage it is at. But our Ministry of Treasury and Finance and our Ministry of Labor and Social Security are working rapidly to make the most accurate decision by putting the issue on the table, both in terms of meeting the demands we receive from our retirees and considering the budget balance. Hopefully, when the work on this issue is concluded, they will share it with the public."
