Worker dies after concrete fragment falls on him in Bakırköy
The excavator operator who was lowering the concrete blocks into the pit and the site manager were arrested by the Duty Magistrate Judge after being referred to the courthouse following their police procedures

In Istanbul's Bakırköy district, a worker who was struck by a piece of concrete that broke off from a block being lowered into a pit by an excavator during ISKI sewage works has died in the hospital.
As the concrete block was being lowered by the excavator, a piece broke off and fell onto worker Veysel Pala, who was working in the area, leaving a concrete fragment impaled in his leg. He was removed from the scene by bystanders. Health and police teams were dispatched to the location.
Despite all medical interventions at the hospital, the critically injured Pala lost his life.
SITE MANAGER ARRESTED
The excavator operator, Murat A., and the site manager, Sedat K., were taken into custody and referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse following their procedures at the police station.
Both suspects were arrested by the Duty Magistrate Judge.
