Yeni Asya Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Kazım Güleçyüz had been detained on charges of "spreading terrorist organization propaganda" due to a post he made on his X account following the death of FETÖ leader Fethullah Gülen.

ARRESTED

Güleçyüz, who was brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan yesterday evening following police procedures, was ordered to be arrested by the duty magistrate judge.

Güleçyüz's lawyers stated that they would appeal the arrest.

Regarding Gülen's death, Güleçyüz had written on X: "Fethullah Gülen has also migrated from the world of trials to the realm of barzakh. The account for the allegations against him will now be settled on the other side. Reiterating our wish for an end to the injustices that have caused the victimization of many people based on these allegations, we say may God treat him with mercy and justice. Condolences to the community."

On the other hand, Güleçyüz's account was blocked from access following the post.
