ÖSYM launches project to generate questions using artificial intelligence

ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy answered questions regarding ÖSYM's goals related to "artificial intelligence" during its digital transformation process.

Ersoy provided the information, "We have added artificial intelligence experts to our team and established a new advisory board on this subject. This advisory board has begun working actively to determine the policies for ÖSYM's future vision."

"WE WANT TO BE IN INTERACTION WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE"

Stating that there are also artificial intelligence professors on their teams, President Ersoy said, "We especially want all units of different institutions to be in interaction with artificial intelligence applications. The main goal is for all institutions that are our stakeholders, such as the Meteorological Service, the General Directorate of Highways, and municipalities, to be coordinated."

"IT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO SAVINGS IN EVERY ASPECT"

Explaining that they will hold meetings with relevant institutions regarding conditions that could affect exams, Ersoy emphasized that thanks to this coordination, exams will be held in healthier environments. President Ersoy noted the following:

"When studies are transferred to our system instantly, we will have optimized the exam processes even better. When negative situations occur, we will not choose schools in that region; we will place candidates in locations outside of those areas. Therefore, in a system based on artificial intelligence where existing units communicate, we will have created the most suitable environment that does not cause problems for candidates in reaching exam buildings. This will contribute to us achieving savings in every aspect by optimizing our processes."

QUESTIONS WILL BE GENERATED WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Ersoy expressed that the work previously started at ÖSYM aimed at generating questions with "artificial intelligence" is also continuing.

"We have started another new project regarding artificial intelligence applications to generate questions. We aim to complete this project within our term of office," said Ersoy, explaining that they also want to carry out exam evaluation with artificial intelligence.

ÖSYM President Ersoy made the assessment, "Artificial intelligence should not mean that we neglect the human factor. In this sense, we will carefully maintain the balance between machine and human."
