HOW TO MAKE GARLIC POWDER AT HOME?
Approximately 1 kg of garlic powder is obtained from 5 kg of fresh garlic. During the drying process, the water evaporates and only the garlic essence remains. First of all, you can use as much garlic as you want to make garlic powder. To make garlic powder, start by cutting the peeled garlic cloves into thin slices. Set the oven to 80-100 degrees. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. They will start to dry in a short time. That is, when you can crush them with your hand, the garlic is dry. After drying, let the garlic cool. Grind it in a food processor or mortar until it reaches the consistency you want. Transfer to a glass jar and mix well. Shaking the jar occasionally in the first few days will help the moisture distribute evenly to the garlic powder and prevent your garlic powder from molding. Be sure to store the jar full of garlic powder, with the lid tightly closed, in a dark environment. You can use garlic powder in all dishes where fresh garlic is used.
NOTE: Another method to obtain garlic powder is to dry it in the sun. In the summer months, you can place it in a strainer inside a thin cheesecloth and dry it in the sun.
