Ahmet Hakan's commentary on Fırat Tanış: 'How does he cope with this hypocrisy when he is left alone with himself?'

Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan evaluated the allegations that Fırat Tanış subjected his former partner İklim Tamkan to violence. Hakan stated, "How is it that a man who is actually a total brute can project an image as if he were a super-civilized person? How does he cope with this hypocrisy when he is left alone with himself?"

Musician İklim Tamkan stated that she has obtained a restraining order against actor Fırat Tanış, whom she separated from in September 2023, on the grounds that he subjected her to psychological violence, threatened her, and engaged in stalking.

In a statement on her social media account, Tamkan said, "I have obtained a restraining order against Fırat Tanış, with whom I ended my relationship at the end of September, due to the ongoing cycle of severe psychological violence, threats, and stalking that he has dragged me, my family, and my loved ones into following our separation."

Providing information about the process she went through, Tamkan used the expressions, "It is a story so exhausting, frightening, and surreal that I cannot just say it was a wrong choice and move on."

Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan brought the Fırat Tanış-İklim Tamkan incident to his column.

Here are the striking parts from that article:

"How is it that a man who is actually a total brute can project an image as if he were a super-civilized person? How is it that a person who applies, or is capable of applying, severe psychological violence can easily sell the 'revolutionary dervish' vibe to the public? How is it that someone who inflicts deep wounds on the person they are dealing with can pull off artistic stunts like 'let's get to know each other' (gelin tanış olalım).

Most importantly of all: How does he explain these inconsistencies in his own inner world? How does he cope with this hypocrisy when he is left alone with himself? How can he look in the mirror?"
