Restraining order issued against actor Fırat Tanış; partner İklim Tamkan speaks out

Tamkan announced that she had obtained a restraining order against actor Fırat Tanış, with whom she had ended her relationship, due to "psychological violence, threats, and stalking." 

Stating, "I see it as a responsibility to break this chain of violence, and I refuse to be a silent link in this chain," Tamkan added, "I am not afraid at all."

Pianist İklim Tamkan made a statement on the social media platform X regarding actor Fırat Tanış, from whom she separated some time ago.

Tamkan stated that after ending her relationship with Tanış, the actor had subjected her, her family, and her loved ones to a "spiral of severe psychological violence, threats, and stalking."

The full statement released by Tamkan, who noted that she had obtained a restraining order against Tanış, is as follows:

"I have obtained a restraining order against Nuri Fırat TANIŞ, with whom I ended my relationship at the end of September, due to the ongoing spiral of severe psychological violence, threats, and stalking that he has subjected me, my family, and my loved ones to since our separation.

"HE HAS INFLICTED INDESCRIBABLE WOUNDS"

This experience I have lived through has turned into a story so exhausting, frightening, and surreal that I cannot simply dismiss it by saying it was a 'wrong choice.'

The spiral of violence I have been subjected to has caused me, my family, and my close circle to experience feelings that are impossible to describe or predict, which we have never encountered or witnessed before, and it has left deep wounds in us.

As someone who has always made it a principle to approach every living thing with love and respect, I am aware that I carry a social, moral, and conscientious responsibility in such a situation.

"I SEE BREAKING THE CHAIN OF VIOLENCE AS A RESPONSIBILITY"

The values I believe in, my self-respect, and my foresight have created a necessity to share the information that this person is a perpetrator of violence with my peers and the public.

I see it as a responsibility to break this chain of violence, and I refuse to be a silent link in this chain.

I believe that the restraining order will play an important role in my process of regaining the mental and physical health that was damaged following the violence I experienced.

"A CLEAR ATTACK ON MY PERSONAL RIGHTS"

The actions to which this individual has subjected me are a clear attack on my personal rights and are of a nature that could constitute multiple crimes under the Turkish Penal Code.

I refuse to bow down to the behavioral patterns and judgments of the male-dominated mentality that has permeated every cell of the society we live in.

"I AM NOT AFRAID AT ALL"

I do not believe there is any authority that can fully repair the destruction that this terrible process I have lived through has created in me.

In summary, this action is merely the bringing to light of a truth that has remained in the shadows for some time.-

Unless the spiral of psychological violence, threats, and stalking I have been subjected to is ended by the perpetrator, those who sow shall reap, and those who do wrong shall face the consequences. Because I am not afraid at all.”
