Dr. Ender Saraç had been accused of abusing his own child, and it was claimed that M. Saraç had confessed this to his teacher at school.
Benan Saraç, the wife of Ender Saraç, who gave a statement on July 13 in a private room at the Child Monitoring Center established for abuse victims at Şişli Etfal Hospital, described what happened after that day as follows:
'I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT RIGHT'
"My son said he resorted to this path to keep his father away from our family and to teach him a lesson. I told him that this was not right and that we needed to report this situation to the police immediately."
Afterward, officials from the Child Protection Bureau gave us an appointment for December 13 at 11:30 AM. I am saddened by my child's behavior. There is nothing else to say."
'HE DID NOT FORCE ME INTO THE SHOWER'
13-year-old M. Saraç, who had accused his father of sexual abuse, told the Public Prosecutor, a pedagogue, and police officers in the Child Monitoring Room at Şişli Etfal Hospital the following:
"I wanted to teach my father a lesson because he left us without money. I confessed the whole truth to my mother, that no such thing happened. He did not force me into the shower, walk around naked, or make me watch pornographic content. My father did not commit any abuse against me."
The child, who also stated that he wanted a restraining order issued against his father, continued his words as follows:
"I feared God, so I told the truth. If possible, I want a restraining order issued. We do not want to see my father. My mother, my sibling, and I are very happy." (Hürriyet)
