Haluk Levent: 'Proceeds from concerts should be donated to the families of martyrs'

Haluk Levent took the stage at a venue in the TRNC the other evening.
Levent, who is preparing for a European tour, said, "I want to embrace our friends in Europe. We have been away from concerts for so long that I missed singing; I even forgot the lyrics to my own song at one of my concerts, which was an interesting situation for me."
'IT IS ALWAYS THE WORKERS WHO SUFFER'
Touching upon the purchase of a house for the family of Müslüm Özdemir, who was martyred in the Pençe-Kilit Operation zone, Haluk Levent stated, "I am speaking about this for the first time. Our hearts break when news of martyrs arrives, but only music is silenced, while sports events continue. It is always the working musicians who suffer.
Music should not be silenced; concerts should be held, but the proceeds from them should be donated to the families of martyrs. I have adopted this as a principle for myself. With the concert revenue, Hasan Can Kaya and I bought the house, and Melek Mosso bought the furniture for the house. People standing together in these difficult times makes everyone feel happy and hopeful," he said.
