Journalist Arif Esen has passed away
BREAKING NEWS... Arif Esen, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Journalists Association of Turkey, has passed away. Esen's funeral will be held tomorrow at the Silivri Gümüşyaka Cemetery.

The Journalists Association of Turkey (TGC) Supervisory Board member and Permanent Press Card holder Arif Esen has passed away.
Esen, who lost his life yesterday, will be laid to rest at the Silivri Gümüşyaka Cemetery tomorrow following the noon prayer at the Ataköy 5th Section Ömer Duruk Mosque.
Following Esen's death, the Journalists Association of Turkey (TGC) published a message of condolence.
The message included the following statements:
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Arif Esen, our former Supervisory Board President and current member of our Supervisory Board.
We will never forget our dear Arif Esen, who served the journalism profession with success and contributed greatly to the Journalists Association of Turkey. We extend our condolences to his family and our press community...”
WHO IS ARIF ESEN?
Journalist Arif Esen was born in 1957 in the Hadim district of Konya. He graduated from the School of Journalism and Public Relations (Marmara University Faculty of Communication), affiliated with the Istanbul Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences.
He began his journalism career as a reporter at Dünya Newspaper in 1979 while still a student. He worked in various positions such as reporter, page secretary, and editor at the newspapers Dünya, Demokrat, Cumhuriyet, Güneş, Hürriyet, and Posta.
He served as the president of the Communication Alumni Association (İLMED) between 2002 and 2007. Most recently, he was involved in magazine publishing. He was a member of the TGC Supervisory Board.
He was married and a father of two.
