The Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues to be the focus of attention following the arrest of sisters Bahar Candan and Nihal Candan for 'money laundering' as part of an ongoing investigation.

It has been revealed that Nihal Candan married Mehmet Faruk Çiçek 4 months ago.

Businessman Mehmet Faruk Çiçek made a statement through his lawyer following the reports in the press.

'IT WAS NOT ANNOUNCED INTENTIONALLY'

The following statements were used in the statement made by Çiçek's lawyer:

“Our client, Mehmet Faruk Çiçek, is not a subject of the investigation in question. Our client has not been questioned even as a person with knowledge, let alone as a suspect. Due to the traditions of the family to which Mehmet Faruk Çiçek belongs and their desire for privacy, the marriage they entered into with his wife, Nihal Candan, was not intentionally announced to the public.

Our client was in shock when the police teams arrived at the house. He never imagined that they had come for his wife. He even said to the police officers who arrived, ‘I think you have come to the wrong address.’”

Businessman Mehmet Faruk Çiçek has two children from his first marriage.
