Occupancy rates in Cappadocia exceed 90 percent
Occupancy rates in hotels across the Cappadocia region, one of Turkey's major tourism hubs, have exceeded 90 percent ahead of the Ramadan Feast. Reservations surged immediately after President Erdoğan announced that the holiday period would be extended to 9 days.

The Cappadocia region, which is on the UNESCO World and Natural Heritage list and is one of the most important tourism centers in both the world and Turkey with its fairy chimneys, unique rock formations, beautiful valleys, and underground and above-ground rock cities, has seen occupancy rates approach 100 percent during the 9-day holiday period.
'ACCOMMODATION RATE EXCEEDED 90 PERCENT'
Tourism professional Mehmet Dinler stated, "After the holiday was extended to 9 days, there is a real sense of holiday excitement in Cappadocia. Our citizens who were planning to go on vacation took advantage of the 9-day break. This gave them flexibility to plan two, three, or four-day Cappadocia itineraries. Demand for Cappadocia vacations has increased before, during, and after the holiday.
Currently, the occupancy rate in accommodation facilities has exceeded 90 percent. We ask our guests who want to go on vacation not to leave their reservations to the last minute. The holiday in Cappadocia is wonderful," he said.
'THERE IS SERIOUS DEMAND'
Teyfik Ölmez, President of the Cappadocia Tourism Operators Association, also said, "We can say this is the longest holiday of the year, or even the first and longest. There is very serious demand for Cappadocia with the Ramadan Feast. Occupancy rates in Cappadocia are currently at 90 percent. We are hearing that many hotels no longer have rooms available.
However, we still have a limited number of rooms. Vacationers considering Cappadocia should act quickly. We believe Cappadocia will be completely full during the holiday," he said.
