Revealed after years: 8,000 years ago, the symbol of love was not a heart
It has been revealed that in 8,000-year-old rock paintings found in the Beşparmak Mountains, known as Latmos, in the Söke district of Aydın, the symbol of love was not the 'heart' shape used today.

In studies conducted in the region by nature photographer Yücel Sevingül, it was determined that 8,000 years ago, love was symbolized by figures of a man and a woman drawn side by side.
While new additions are made every day to the rock paintings first discovered in 1994 by German archaeologist Dr. Anneliese Peschlow on Mount Beşparmak, which had the ancient name Latmos, approximately 8,000-year-old rock paintings drawn on rocks were photographed during studies conducted in the Karahayıt Village Kavaklıdere region near Bafa, located between Aydın and Muğla.
